Sister Margaret Kerr taught at Saint Agnes for 22 years. She was the last Sister of Notre Dame at Saint Agnes. Along with teaching computer, she also played the bass guitar during school Masses. A special tribute was held for Sister Margaret in June 2009.
Sisters of Notre Dame
The Sisters of Notre Dame were in residence at Saint Agnes Catholic School for over 60 years from 1946 to 2009. They founded the school in 1946 and reached a peak of ten Sisters in 1949. The Sisters of Notre Dame proclaim God’s goodness and provident care especially to those in need.
Although the faculty is now lay teachers, Saint Agnes continues to embrace the four teaching cornerstones of the Sisters of Notre Dame:
- dignity of the teacher
- worth of the individual student
- thoroughness of instruction in all subjects
- centrality of religion
