St.
Agnes has a long tradition of participating in
the Northern Virginia Junior Catholic Young Organization
(link), beginning
in 4th grade. In addition, there are other
St. Agnes School teams in other community sports
leagues. Both CYO and the community leagues
are listed below. If you have a team and/or
sport not listed below, please contact Doug Richardson

CYO
Basketball
CYO
Basketball is open to all St. Agnes school and
CCD students. We have teams for girls and
boys in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
Player
registration is in late September (please look
for announcements in the Parish bulletin, and
in the school and CCD backpack mail). Practices
begin in early November. Games are on Saturdays
and Sundays from early December through early
March. The cost is $75 per player.

Tennis
CYO
Tennis is open to all St. Agnes school and CCD
students. We have co-ed teams for girls
and boys in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
Player

are once a week and start in early September.
Matches are on Sunday afternoons from late
September until early-November. The cost
is $60 per player.

Arlington
County Soccer
St.
Agnes kids play soccer through Arlington Soccer
Association (ASA), www.arlingtonsoccer.com. Soccer
teams start at the kindergarten age and continue
through high school, including options for a more
competitive level of play through travel soccer.
Soccer is played in the fall and spring, with
additional indoor winter leagues.
It is the policy of the
ASA to not form teams from any particular school
as a way tobuild a sense of community in Arlington.
Most St. Agnes kids play on Potomac Kiwanis (PK)
soccer teams. At most ages, St. Agnes school
makes up about 1/3 of a PK team. You can
register for PK Soccer through their website:
www.pksoccer.com.
Baseball
Arlington
has two separate baseball organizations, Arlington
Little League, www.arlingtonlittleleague.org,
and Arlington Babe Ruth, http://eteamz.active.com/arlingtonbaberuth.
The two organizations have somewhat different
offerings at each age level, beginning with t-ball
at kindergarten and continuing until high school.
St. Agnes has had and continues to have teams
in both organizations, and several St. Agnes parents
are involved as coaches. More information is available
through both of the leagues.
