Funerals at Saint Agnes

We wish to express our deepest condolences to you and your family as you grieve the loss of a loved one. We offer our prayers and hope that you and your family will find comfort in the bountiful Mercy of God. As Catholics we believe that, through the Resurrection of Jesus, we have been saved from death’s grip. Therefore, we come together to pray for the repose of the souls of those who have departed from us. Through the celebration of the funeral, we can find peace in God’s Mercy and Love, healing and forgiveness, joy and gratitude, and hope for the day on which we will be fully united with God and our loved ones in Heaven.

“At the death of a Christian, whose life of faith was begun in the waters of Baptism and strengthened at the Eucharistic table, the Church intercedes on behalf of the deceased because of its confident belief that death is not the end, nor does it break the bonds forged in life. The Church also ministers to the sorrowing and consoles them in the funeral rites with the comforting Word of God and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.”
